Successful Teachers for Successful Students
“The most valuable resource that all teachers have is each other. Without collaboration our growth is limited to our own perspectives.” (Robert John Meehan)
Teachers are students, too! Keeping our teachers equipped with skills and strategies to be successful in their classrooms is important for the success of their students.
Last week, Primary School Principal Lisois Brevil conducted a training for the kindergarten teachers at Pwoje Espwa. He worked with the teachers to identify techniques to engage their young students and activate their critical thinking skills.
While many disqualify the importance of kindergarten-age years, they are critical for the development of the brain, as well as for the social development of young minds.
Education is not static -- Teachers, educators and administrators are constantly learning what techniques and approaches are most effective through their experiences in the classroom. Yearly training and development workshops with teachers in all three schools at Pwoje Espwa – kindergarten, primary and secondary – augment their teaching backgrounds, ensuring they have the resources they need for their students to reach success.
Supporting teachers by equipping them with quality tools is one of the best ways we can support the children!
